First and foremost, understand that you always have a choice about how to respond to and deal with fear, especially when it comes to launching business ventures. Fear is an emotion that can be felt but also seen as well. How many people do you come into contact with that tell you, "I'm not ready yet, it's not the right time or I don't have enough money to start." You can look at them in their eyes and you know that they are scared and fearful about moving forward with the idea they have. It is always an excuse not to get started never a reason to start with what they have. Take what you have and start, that is the hardest part of starting a business. It is the fear of not knowing what is going to happen that is eating up people's dreams. But shouldn't facing those fears push us into exploring what will happen on the other side of fear? Don't you want to know what will happen if you succeed?
You can cave into it, struggle with it, accept it, or work around it. You always have a choice, a choice you can make again and again or that you can change based on your assessment of what is best for you. When we started there was fear of the unknown. Will our t-shirts and apparel resonate with people, will anyone purchase them, or even listen to our message of inspiration? But then we brought our friends with us faith, desire, ambition, strength and the hunger to be successful kicked in which was too much for fear to handle. We got to the point where we did not care. We were not looking for everybody to connect with us but only those that share our passion, purpose and desire to inspire the world everyday. When you connect with like-minded individuals who fuel you something amazing happens. Your idea spreads, your business grows as you grow and fear no longer has any power of me because I kept all the power for myself. You see the reality is unless you are willing to face your fear you will never know what's on the other side of it. There is joy, happiness, strength on the other side that you and I will never know if we allow fear to stop us. So what if I fail it's a part of the process of success. I'm here to tell you that you can play it safe and still fail. So take the risk and embrace the fear. What you find out is that fear does not have the kind of power you thought it had.
Fear keeps us grounded when we should be soaring high with our ideas and creativity. Take the risk, dare to be rare and enjoy the journey because what you will discover on the other side of fear is yourself.
